Cuba - anyone been recently?

Has anyone been to Cuba lately? Havana or Varadero? Looking for recommendations. I don't think TUI fly there any more.

My brother was in Havana last week for five days. He said it felt very run down and not what he was expecting. The pandemic hit them hard and it's quite dirty with a lot of homeless/unemployed. It was already very evidently poor when I visited 12 years ago but he said it seemed much worse now.
