Sunny October holidays

Hi, does anyone have any recommendations for somewhere which is warm in October? I’m pregnant at the moment so can’t go to any Zika virus risk countries, and preferably would want to travel short haul.

South of France is lovely even as late as half term. It's definitely got an autumnal vibe but nothing like here.

We go to Siuth of Portugal in October where temperatures are usually about 25/26 everyday. Usually Villamora where a lot of the tourists have gone home so active but not mad busy. Absolutely fabulous.

Southern Spain. Costa del Sol if you want a beach holiday or Malaga, Granada or Seville for a city break.

Or Canaries.

Cyprus, I couldn't believe how warm it still was

We did Majorca for 5 years running at October half term and it was always lovely.
I accept we may just have been really lucky though.

Sicily - the sea was lovely and warm when we snorkelled at Scopello and San Vito Lo Capo a few years ago during Oct half term.

My parents like going away in October and usually do Lanzarote (playa blanca) or Cyprus

I've been to Valencia in early November and it has still been t shirt weather (you needed a light jacket in the evenings).

Anywhere in the Mediterranean will still be warm. Maybe not 7-hours-tanning-on-the-beach warm every day, but warm enough to eat outside (with long sleeves in the evenings). The pools will be starting to get fresh but the sea will still have a lot of warmth left from the summer. But there is always going to be a risk of a day or two of storms, so take some books.

In recent years we've been to South of France/Italian Riviera/Sicily/Rome in early to late October and weather has been generally great. Spain should be reasonable - this year we are going to Valencia next month, but I've been Barcelona and Seville in late November and it was quite warm in the day time.

Thanks everyone for your advice. Unfortunately DH’s work can’t give him time off until 20th Nov now, so thinking Canaries with a heated pool is the best option? Neither of us love baking heat, but I do want to be able to lie out with a book and enjoy the pool. I’ve been to Greece in July and been in the shade the whole time, and inside 12-2 because I can’t cope otherwise
