Athens for 2 nights

Hi all - we are holidaying in Greece (walking in menalon mountains) this October, with 2 nights in Athens before we go home. We want to be really central so we can see the sights - never been before - any hotel or location recommendations please?

We stayed here and would recommend it.

PS the rooftop bar and pool are apparently closed at present (shame as the views are spectacular) - but there's another restaurant and an indoor pool as well...

The Plaka area is close to the Acropolis, museum and Parliament. It's full of shops, restaurants, bars. Near the main road for buses and tours, and a short walk from the underground. We loved it!
