Majorca with young children

What is the best month to go Majorca weather wise with a 2 and 4 year old. We can't go at all in June so either May or July we're thinking

May can be still a bit unsettled, you need to prepare for a rainy day or two. But you can also have beach weather.
We went in the last two weeks of May once and had a mix of really everything.

Can you go in September?

We went end of June last year and it was SO HOT with a 1&3 year old. It was hard going / the sand was too hot to walk on / they were grumpy and hot. Dinners were sweaty and stressful.

So I would avoid July if it was me!

July can be pretty hot and one thing to bear in mind is that schools in Scotland/NI/Ireland break up at the end of June and so many family friendly resorts get much busier.

September can be a lovely month, it's a bit cooler, quieter but still hot enough for the pool and the sea is lovely and warm after the summer months.
