We're going on holiday to Cornwall in a couple of weeks and staying at Ruthern Valley, near bodmin. We're there Mon-Fri so would love to know the very best beaches to visit, which aren't too long to drive to, as well as other must do activities. I have a just turned one year old and 4.5 year old

The best things to do with small children in that area are Camel Creek and the Eden Project.
Mawgan Porth Beach is an excellent wide, sandy, sheltered beach with rock pools and sand even at high tide. Toilets and parking are close to the beach.

Harlyn bay is a lovely sheltered beach usually from the wind as it faces in a slightly different direction that most other on the stretch. Surf lessons available here.

Treyarnon also great at low tide, even has a natural rock pool swimming pool.

Next beach along is Constantine bay, also gorgeous.

Also Padstow, a lovely wander around with pasties.
