Crete in October

I'm looking for a reasonably priced getaway to relax. Just me and DH (late 50s if that makes a difference ;) )

Looking at average temps and flight times, Crete comes out as a winner. I have not been and know little about this island.

Which resort would suit us? We like a bit of sightseeing, but are hoping for a LOT of relaxing on this trip - our summer hols were all on tight schedules. LIke a beach, but happy with a pool either. Food - has to be some vegan offerings. Entertainment - happy with lowkey but don't mind a bit of a wild night now and again.

Chania is absolutely beautiful ! You might start looking around there ?

Just to warn you, ive been to Crete in October twice, once was beautiful and the other was dull and grey for a whole week.

We liked the south, Matala was beautiful.

i was looking at Chania - I like the look of that area.

The weather is what would worry me. My usual go to when it’s not summer is Canary Islands as it’s generally good weather
