Hi, we're off next week with an 8 and 11 year old. Realise it will be hot but love exploring. Where would people recommend? TIA

Haven't visited with children but Margaret Island is a nice place to escape the city bustle of the city.

I am there at the moment, hot is an understatement, it has been at least 37 degrees. I am here without kids and have enjoyed cathedral and synagogue and planning river trip this evening. Walked in the park yesterday which has lots
For kids .

Taking pedalos on the river can be a nice break when it’s hot.

The classical concerts that are on absolutely everywhere are frequently air conditioned (check before buying tickets!) if you need something to sit down for in the cool. My teen surprised herself by loving the music and recognising much of it. A short concert should be very doable with 8 and 11.

Hire bikes and ride around Margaret's island - lots of shade and some great musical fountains.
If really hot consider getting Bolt cabs from.place to place- very reasonably priced and save you from getting hot and sweaty walking around or waiting for buses!

I haven't been but think there are also outdoor swimming baths on Margaret's Island.

There are some great water parks, Dalagy and Palatinus are two that spring to mind.
A river cruise might also be nice.
There's a pinball museum in the city which I've heard good things about.
It is hot, so make sure to schedule lots of stops for ice creams!
