We're off to Nantes soon for 3 nights - two children, 11 and 8 years. We are staying in the centre of the city. What would be recommend to do? TIA

Take a train to La Baule peninsula - 45 mins - great seaside resort with easy access to beach, restaurants and other quaint towns (all linked via trainline). Be nice visit outside of city if too hot or bored. Natural History museum is great though

If you have kids or even if not definitely do L'ile de machines but book the Elephant well in advance.

The day we had at La Baule on the beach was honestly one of the nicest beach days I’ve ever had, anywhere. Well worth the train.

Same goes for l’ile des machines, it’s huge fun. We also really enjoyed the local castle, the Chateau des Ducs de Bretagne. I think that’s the picture on the Crazy Tourist link.
