Child's Fast Track Passport

Desperate Mum here!

We are due to fly on holiday tomorrow morning and stupidly didn't realise that our daughter's passport has expired. We noticed on Monday (one week before holiday) and I managed to book an appointment at the passport office in Glasgow (we live in London) for the Tuesday morning! I drove through the night to make it in time. I know there was a slim chance we would get it before tomorrow but I had to do all I could.

There's a 5 day child protection hold on all child passports so it wasn't approved until 10pm last night.

I was wondering if anyone knew if passports were printed on Sundays and if there's any slight hope of me being able to collect it if this is the case.

I have called the passport office but they weren't very helpful and said it needs to be posted (despite someone in the week telling me it can be collected).

Any advice would be appreciated.

Gosh what a nightmare!
I don't know if they print on Sundays- you could ring again and ask? Sometimes, if you get a different call handler, they can be more informative.

It's going to be very tight even if you can but not much you can do.

Any chance of changing the flight to a later one tomorrow or early Tuesday to give you more time?

The airline said we could keep the booking and just pay for the extra flights to get out there. So here's hoping we can go on Wednesday once the passport has arrived and still have 5 days for our holiday 🤞🏻
