Florence - Hotel & neighbourhood recommendations!

I have an opportunity to go to Florence for a few nights this autumn.

I am VERY excited as I've never been before, and have not seen much of Italy. I might be able to take my partner or a friend, but also happy to go solo if the dates don't work for them.

I need recommendations for a lovely area of the city to stay, with lots of cute cafes and restaurants nearby. Preferably within 20-30 mins walk of some of the sights.

I'd also welcome any hotel/Airbnb recommendations... I don't have tons of money but it needs to be comfortable and clean and hopefully with some charm!

Thanks in advance 🙂

We stayed at the Pitti Palace right at the end of The Ponte Vecchio, you could be closer. It’s in an old monastery building and only has a rooftop for outside space, but what a view! The restaurants are slightly cheaper on that side of the river Arno. Watching the coming and going from our room window was wonderful. But do go to their website and look for yourself.

Couldn’t be closer to all the sights. Why didn’t it come out like that!

Sites !
By the way, you can book your tickets for museums, art galleries etc before you go. Saves queuing.

Nice breakfast, no dinner though. I had a single bed and it was a bit on the small side.

Felt absolutely safe, walking distance to everything as Florence is really small.
There are some restaurants nearby and otherwise tons in 15 minutes walk.

Do book tickets, especially if you want to see the David, well in advance.

We stayed here - www.villinofiorentino.com
It was a really lovely B&B. Walking distance from the centre, but also close to some local restaurants too. And a tram stop at the end of the road if you wanted to get to the centre in a couple of minutes (we enjoyed the walk, mainly).

The owner was great, and recommended lots of things that we wouldn't have heard about otherwise.

Official Website | Villino Fiorentino | Bed and Breakfast

B&B totally renovated, well situated in Downtown Florence, Parking, WiFi, Official website...

The highest risk area we felt was round the duomo at night obvious gangs approaching DH wanting to shake his hand/look at his watch to identify if it was worth stealing.
Other than that we felt it was very safe. We got an amazing deal at an amazing hotel in the BA sale.
