How far in advance do you book?

Just wondering how far in advance are people booking holidays? Past few years we have booked quite late and have only last week booked our holiday for august. I think this is partly from covid where we couldn’t plan or commit to anything but obviously that has now changed. I’m tentatively looking at holidays for next year as I’d like to plan, there are some reasonable flight prices for Easter etc. Are people generally booking for next year already?!

Usually a-couple of months in advance but we don’t have kids. We’re not planners at all though, always blows my mind people have any idea what they’re doing next year. We did a big trip to Vietnam with a months notice! No issues booking

I've booked until October 2025. It's easier for me as I'm bound by school holidays so it's not like I have much flexibility.
The trip I booked for October 2025 seems a bargain compared to the trips I booked this year, so I might end up making this a new pattern. For context, it's £600 pp for AI in the canaries, flights, transfers, bungalow, everything (5 nights). So definitely worth looking ahead if you're tied to a budget and know when you're going to be going away.

When DC were little and we were stuck with school holidays and had to book time off work months ahead I booked holidays a good 6 months or more in advance.
Now that DC have left home and we are retired we can be very flexible. The thing I have found though is that the later I leave it the price goes up.

We are booked for 2025 summer and October HT. Summer booked ages ago as there are only 4 rooms on the boat we are going on that suit our requirements. If I want something particular, I can book up to 2 years ahead. I’m waiting until after the summer hols to book summer 2026. I may be a bit unusual!

This week we booked an air bnb in the UK for the end of July, and one in Tenerife for December but haven’t booked flights yet.
We usually book 1-2 months before we go somewhere

Oh and our last holiday to Spain we booked 1 week before we went!

I have cruise booked for Summer 2026.

we need accessible cabins so always book when they are released.
