City break recommendations by sea

Can anyone recommend a city break location by sea please? DH wants to go on a citybreak, but I want to see the sea (I don't necessarily need a beach).

I've no idea what it's like and what you're looking for, but I was looking at Valletta in Malta the other day. There's a bus from airport and its close to sea.

A couple of days in Bordeaux and a night in Arcachon (especially if you like oysters).
