Hi everyone,

I'm planning a short trip to Istanbul and would like to stay in the Sultanahmet area for 2 nights. Can you recommend any good hotels? Also, I'd love some tips on the best mosques to visit and where to find great food.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Can't help with a hotel as I booked a bit of a dive, but Sultanahmet is one of my favourite places. Sulaymaniye and Blue mosques are a must, as well as Aya Sofia. Go early though as the queue can get very long. Wear modest clothes in and bring your own pashmina to cover your head, I saw one mosque charging money for a coverup thing. Wear comfortable shoes as the ground is cobble stoney and not suitable for fashion sandals/slider type shoes. In Sulaimaniye mosque there is a restaurant with a beautiful view that is a must. I went out a bit further for food, it's overpriced in that area, but I'm sure most places are great.

For your stay in Sultanahmet, I highly recommend the Amiral Palace Boutique Hotel. It's known for its warm hospitality, cozy rooms, and fantastic location. You can just walk to Blue Mosque,Hagia Sophia,Süleymaniye Mosque. And for the food I'd say Tarihi Sultanahmet Köftecisi or the hotel has a great restaurant with an awesome view. You choose it :)

Thank you! I'll be headed to the Amiral Palace Boutique Hotel after searching online and reading good reviews. As you said, hotel's reputation for warm hospitality, cozy rooms, and its location near major attractions made it an easy decision. Looking forward to trying out hotel's restaurant with its that view!
