Hvar and Croatia

I am starting to worry about our trip to Hvar as keep hearing how expensive it is. we usually manage to travel cheap and have good self catering accommodation in Hvar town so that we can walk places but are we going to be miserable because snacks and cold drinks and everything else are so expensive?? Would Brac be a better option if we can find accommodation there at this stage? The other half of our holiday is Makarska so that we can do Omis zip line and a day trip to Bosnia. Maybe we should stay in split/trojir or extend the Makarska stay instead? The island part is supposed to be the relaxation bit
Thanks

Go to ciovo off trogir. Cheaper.

We travelled a bit around Croatia last year OP. Certainly Hvar and Dubrovnik were the most expensive places - think £5 a coffee, £10 a G+T, sit down lunch £30 +.
Slightly cheaper was Split, Brac and Omis where things were London prices, but it wasn't a cheap holiday. I did hear that Trogir was slightly cheaper though.

Try Rijeka, we found it cheap! Can’t remember exact pricing but coffee was cheaper than the UK. Maybe €2.

Yes Hvar is all super yachts and cringey men dancing on tables. I’m sure you could find pretty accommodation on hvar but the main strip is a tasteless super rich vibe. There are far nicer places if you aren’t young / into clubbing (to shit music)

Thanks all, Northern croatia is for another time :) we’ve managed to cut our Hvar stay down to just enough to see what we want, will do without car hire to cut costs and are self catering. Am now quite intrigued to see the cringey men table dancing!!

Sorry to revive a zombie, but I'm really interested in a relaxing, beach style holiday with nice town walks for me and my elderly parents (who are sprightly). Any recommendations that won't break the bank?
