Eurocamp - no car

I really fancy trying a Eurocamp type holiday this summer. DH point blank refuses to drive so I’ve been looking at options near airports. All the ones I’ve found so far seem to have very few British visitors according to the Tripadvisor reviews. My DSs are very social and love making new friends on holidays which is obviously easier without a language barrier.

Does anyone have any suggestions for camps that may fit the bill? Near an airport and fairly popular with Brits?

Duinrell in the Netherlands is fab. You can bet to it fairly easily from public transport from Schipol and it’s right on the edge of a lovely wee town.

We did a eurocamp holiday to duinrell without a car, direct flight to Amsterdam and public transport was just brilliant and so easy to get to the site. We had a taxi to get to the airport on the way back though due to the early flight time but this was only around €60. Really recommend the site 😊

We went to one near Venice and due to a cock up, we ended up not being able to hire a car. It was no problem, taxi to the resort and then a couple of kms walk to the port to get the ferry to Venice, didn't need a car at all

Friends of mine went to one near Venice. Can't be much more help than that, but perhaps a place to look for what's on offer!

There's a a few sites near Béziers airport in France. Not sure if you can get there via Ryanair.

I'd aim for the Costa dorada in Spain. Fly into Barcelona. Most will help organise transport from the airport.

Union lido Venice. Air bus from airport straight to campsite. We went for many years.

Bella Italia on lake Garda is a 20min taxi ride from Verona airport.

Duinrell, Bella Italia, Union Lido, Porto Felice etc on Venetian Riviera. Vias Plage near Agde/Beziers has a few sites - Siblu La Carabasse/Club Farret. We went there on the train. Lots within walking distance. Definitely other english speakers there.

Euro camp have a section on their website for sites that work well without cars.

CountingToThree · 23/06/2024 21:53

Duinrell, sanguli and Bella vista all fairly easy without a car

doggybootcamp · 23/06/2024 22:26

There are several around Lake Garda (fly into Verona)
Also worth looking at Canping Fabulous, several near Venice (Marina di Venezia is amazing).
We do this every year and never drive or hire a car- haven't tried France yet but have looked up many there.

Sanguli or Cambrils fly into Reus and short transfer away.

Thanks so much for all your suggestions. Got a long list to look through today.
