We are hoping that a very horrible work situation is going to be over with a good result on 31/7. And I'm hoping we can grab a couple of short breaks as @ family before Dd goes back to school. I can't get any holiday, it all went last August (emergency services). We have 4 days off at a time with the caveat that an outbound flight needs to be after 8am from LGW due to night shift leading into first day off. And we need to be back in Gatwick by 10pm on day 4 at the absolute latest. It has to be Gatwick.
we are slow-holidayers so would quite happily spend a week in a city like Porto and still feel we hadn't explored it all so would be looking for small cities we could spend 2 or 3 nights in but not feel like we barely saw anything. Jersey is one of my ideas plus Helsinki as we, but not Dd, have been before or Bratislava. Any recommendations that won't be revoltingly hot ?
