Villas… Where do you book them?

Are there any other sites except air bnb? The fees on their seem huge. One I was looking at was a £299 fee alone and then a £125 cleaning fee!

Just wondered what other websites their are to use? We are looking to go to either south of France, Italy.

We mainly use booking.com

Don’t think of there! I normally just do hotel rooms on there.

Villa plus.

Just used them to book a villa in Spain and they were great. They got back to me very quickly with any queries, and the prices for what you get were very reasonable (most of the villas have a ping pong and pool table)

cyclamenqueen · 17/06/2024 07:29

We use Villaplus , Vintage Travel and Solmar mostly but have also used Vrbo, Olivers Travels and Ionian Island Travel, I know people who use Owners Direct and Pretty Greek villas

DelurkingAJ · 17/06/2024 07:30

We use Vrbo

PrincessOfPreschool · 17/06/2024 07:34

We went to Canada last year and I used Airbnb, hotels.com, booking.com and Vrbo! This year I'm using Gites de France which is really backward in comparison.

chickenpieandchips · 17/06/2024 07:37

Lots of villas on air BnB are on other websites (agency, owners own). Worth trying to google them to see if they come up elsewhere. Sometimes the owners give you clues in the blurb.

longdistanceclaraclara · 17/06/2024 07:41

Vrbo

We've also used James villas but ££££

mitogoshi · 17/06/2024 07:43

I've always used booking.com never paid any extra fees, just the price.

lastdayatschool · 17/06/2024 08:01

@longdistanceclaraclara unfortunately James Villas went out of business last year.

A shame - we'd used them for nearly 20 years and always had excellent properties and service from them

longdistanceclaraclara · 17/06/2024 08:02

Oh wow, didn't realise that, shame because they were excellent.

dementedpixie · 17/06/2024 08:07

Jet2 do villas
Villa plus
James villas before they disappeared

Amivac.com have been pretty good.

ZenNudist · 17/06/2024 08:24

Spain-holiday is excellent for Spain and possibly Portugal too.

I used owners direct a lot but it got taken over by VRBO and I am not as much of a fan.

Prices are crazy now. You may as well get a hotel unless you split a villa with someone.

Is holiday lettings around any more? That was good.

So many villa companies are ££££. I've resorted to AirBNB but resent the fees.

NorthUtsireSouthUtsire · 17/06/2024 08:36

Just booked one on VRBO
