Car Hire Ibiza

Hello,

I am a decent enough driver but never hired a car abroad. I am heading to Ibiza, only for 4 days. Fly into the airport then heading up to Cala San Vincent - has anyone been? I could get a taxi there, or a shuttle (my wife won't be down for a shuttle). Then I go back to Ibiza Town 3 days later (would drop the car off at the airport, so would need a taxi back to the town/or bus). In between I may drive to 1 or 2 restaurants. I am trying to work out if car hire is worth it, taxis are very expensive but if I hire a car with the Zero Excess it's somewhere between £180 - £300 (it could be cheaper with lesser known company not at the airport but I would prefer to go with a big dog as its my first time). It could be cheaper if I bought the Zero excess/excess waiver from another company that isnt the care hire. But what I don't want to happen is to be charged the excess if anything happened, and then have to claim from another company which might not go smoothly.

Just wondering anyone else's previous experience. THANKS

I can't really help with regards to whether it's worth cost wise to hire or get a taxi. What I would recommend if you do hire is to hire from inside the airport.

We went to Ibiza for a long weekend and decided to hire a car and chose a company outside the airport, it was a nightmare, we had to wait at the airport to be picked up by the hire company, where there was a long queue, then when we got to the hire shop we had to wait again in a queue to pick the car up, it took probably a couple of hours, wouldn't do that again.

When we got the car we found it easy to drive around Ibiza.
