2-3 Nights Europe

I have the space for 2-3 nights in Europe with my kids this summer (August). Budget about £800. Looking for sun and a pool but also needs an activity/focus. One kid leery of too much travel/travel disruption. Any suggestions?!?

What sort of activity / focus?

Would somewhere like Salou / La Pineda work - could go to Portaventura World / park as an activity. If you can get flights to Reus (usually a couple of hours), the transfer can be only 15-20 mins, which might help minimise the travelling / disruption.

An amusement park is a good idea, thank you! Needs to be either 'cool/teenie' or something more wildlife focused, horse riding would work but might do us all in if weather normal Europe in August weather!

I know a couple of people who go to Menorca for horse riding holidays because of the Cami de Cavalls - Menorca is again a short flight and usually short-ish transfers if you stay in the south of the island - most of the southern resorts are within 30 mins of the airport.

But yes it’s likely to be in the 30s! So maybe depends on how much you like the heat.

You could look at northern / western France if wanted cooler weather, but it might be flights etc are bonkers because of the olympics this summer

I wonder if there's a horses in the sea type excursion, I might fall down a google black hole on that now! Menorca looks lovely.

Menorca is lovely - checked with my colleague and they recommend this company as being good, and looking after their horses well (and she’s a proper stickler for this sort of thing, as one should be)

Menorca is lovely but it will be very hot in August so bear that in mind.
