Cruising from Palma de Mallorca

We are looking at a Marella cruise that departs from Palma.

If the ship is scheduled to dock at 0600, what is the earliest time you could get off? There is a flight we could catch that leaves Palma Airport at 0900. Would we have enough time to get to the airport to catch this (cabin baggage only)?

Looking for advice from anyone who has done this. TIA

I've done this cruise but not that flight time

You will disembark -at say- 6.30 and it 20 mins to airport. You will be at airport for 7am. That would leave two hours for check in.

Personally I'd get a later flight!

You would need to carry you when bags of the ship. (Self debark)

Marbella usually package up cruise and flights but assume you have booked this independent?

Also palms airport is gigantic. So would need to walk quick and be prepared for what you needed to be.

Problem is if the docks late or there is a delay getting passengers off.

In my 20 or so cruise this has never happened in the Med only once in Canada.

If it docks at 0600, you may not be able to disembark until 0700, I would definitely try to get a later flight and use a luggage drop off if needed during the day.

Are you taking out specific cruise insurance?

Yes, Palma airport is large, but that just means you have to walk 8 minutes rather than 3 from security to the gates. It's very efficient (security almost never takes more than 5 minutes) and two hours from arriving to take-off is more than enough, even with bags to check in.

The main issue is what time you will be allowed off the ship. If it's at 06:30 you will have loads of time. If they faff about and you don't get off until 07:20 then it will be squeaky bum time (but you should still make the plane). There are loads of taxis at the cruise terminal and at that time of day it's about 20 minutes to the airport.

If you decide not to risk it and your flight isn't until the evening then you can check your bags into the left luggage lockers at the main bus station and spend a day in the city.
