Good holiday destinations in Cornwall?

What are the best holiday destinations in Cornwall for a couple holiday without kids?

Somewhere on the sea with nice food options and also a bit of peace and quiet?

We like sea swimming and fish & chips.

I love The Lewinnick Lodge - stunning setting and just far enough away from Fistral to feel peaceful but close enough to be able to walk down and enjoy.

If you want to be right on the beach, it’s hard to beat Tolcarne Beach Village - The Beach Suites are amazing and literally steps from the sea.

Porthleven is beautiful and anywhere around the Lizard

Talland Bay Hotel between Looe and Polperro. It’s an arm and a leg job but a beautiful hotel with lovely rooms and amazing views.

I second this and it's likely to be a bit quieter than the bigger resorts on the north coast.
Lots of nice villages inland and fishing villages on the coast. Falmouth is a lovely town with a good maritime museum.

I'll second that, but I'm biased as I live there 😁

If you want some tranquil with foody stuff near by I'd head to Harlyn/constantine bay. Padstow a few miles away with fantastic restaurants.

Another vote for Porthleven. Pretty but not too touristy. Lovely pubs, including the Mussel Shoal a quirky harbour side industrial type bar. A Michelin star restaurant whose name escapes me but yum. Loads of lovely places to rent. I'll find the cute harbour side flat we stayed in now.
Close to loads of interesting tourist places such as the Minack theatre and Marizion.

We stayed here but this company also have little lofts right on the coastal path.

Also great walks from Porthleven too. Can you tell I loved it there?

Thanks everyone for these responses. I didn't realise that I wasn't logged into Mumsnet and unfortunately missed these replies before we went. We went to Penzance.

But next time I will try one of the places suggested on here.
