Tenerife/Lanzarote tensions

Do you think holidays in these islands will still be nice now, or will the anti-tourism crowd just make the atmosphere awful?

I’m in Tenerife now and haven’t noticed any anti tourism stuff. However I would book Greece instead because it’s pretty rubbish here.

I’m in Tenerife now too, all be it a quieter area on the outskirts of Adeje. No discourse or any sign of not being wanted. Nothing at the airport either

Some tourist areas have been graffiti'd with anti tourism messages and there was a big rally in Lanzarote (I believe) recently.

I've seen some anti-tourism graffiti in Lanzarote but it wasn't in the towns, this was two years ago so before it was in the news.

My MIL just got back from there and didn't experience any distain directed at her. It's the over-saturation of tourism which is causing problems (the same in many places) not the tourists themselves.
