Resorts in Tenerife Please

Looking at holidays in Tenerife and I have no idea. There will be DH and I plus our DS11 and DS9, we're looking for a resort near the beach (walking distance) and preferably with a water park/slides. Does anyone have any recommendations please? I went into Tui and they just used the website (which I had already done at home). I'd like some recommendations of places for a great family holiday.
TIA

MNHQ update: If you’re short on time, here’s a summary of the best hotels Mumsnetters are recommending on this thread:

😎 Spring Hotel Bitacora, Playa de las Americas (book via Booking.com or TUI)

😎 GF Victoria, Costa Adeje (book via Booking.com or TUI)

😎 Bahia Principe Sunlight, Costa Adeje (book via Booking.com or TUI)

My first thought would be Spring Hotel Bitacora in Playa de las Americas - decent waterslides, not just ones for little kids, plus good facilities for older kids / teens. About ten minutes walk from the Playa de las Americas beach or a couple of mins more in the other direction to Playa del Camison, which is a lovely beach. The only downside is the rooms - they are big but they don’t have any family rooms with separate sleeping areas, it’s basically just one big room.

Next option would be GF Victoria in Costa Adeje - not quite so good water slides, but nice enough. Some cool other bits for older kids though like ziplines / climbing wall and a surf pool. About ten minutes walk to two nice beaches - Playa del Duque is particularly nice and one of my fave beaches on the island. Costa Adeje is a lovely resort town as well. Family room options are much better IMO - separate sleeping areas and most have two bathrooms. The suites have lovely big balconies too.

Not many resorts have waterslides in Tenerife. Turkey is the place to look if you want a hotel with waterslides.

Thank you! This is really helpful, particularly because the Bitacora is one of the hotels on my list. Interesting about the rooms, it doesn't make that very clear and it isn't great but not a deal breaker.
I'll have a look at the other one too.
Much appreciated Smile

Thank you. I did wonder! I'm going to have a look at Turkey, it hasn't really appealed previously but maybe they have more suitable hotels now that my kids are older.
Thanks for your response Smile

Personally I would look at the Greek islands. I’m in Tenerife now and I wouldn’t bother coming back. The sea is cold, the sand is coarse, weather is overcast, not a beautiful island, barren and full of rubble/ concrete. Our hotel is nice, but small and there’s not much to do.

I would go elsewhere….I don’t know anyone who actually like Tenerife…ugly dirty dark coarse sands with building rubble just everywhere

Stopped at the Bahia Principe in Costa Adele a couple of times, nice hotel , though not much around it, hotel runs a free bus to Playa das Americas, do agree though that their are better places, hotels in Turkey are great, Greece is a nice place to visit , Croatia is great

The centre and north of the island is stunning (but cooler)

I was disappointed with the beaches on Tenerife.
We stayed in Costa Adeje and walked from Los Cristianos/ Playa de Las Americas to Costa Adeje one day along the seafront. The beaches were jammed with people and had that coarse black sand.
