TUI have a lovely looking hotel in Tunisia. In the Hammamet region.
Anyone been there. It would be me DH and DD12.
Just looking to chill out for a bit in the sun
A trip or 2 out would be nice and a wonder into a nearby town.

Been twice. Wouldn't go again although El Djem knocks spots off the Colosseum and is one of my most favourite trips ever anywhere.

I went to Tunis nearly 20 years ago and have lovely memories of it. I was with ExH though who isn’t Tunisian but from a neighbouring country so maybe we didn’t stand out as tourists. We went to the beach, on public transport etc. with no problems but I have no idea what it would have been like to wander around on my own.

I went to Sousse about 18 years ago with a boyfriend. Were told to go to a best price shop where there was no haggling.

We had a pleasant time and we went on a holiday company excursion to the zoo where we saw the fattest raccoon ever and watched Tunisian Deal or No Deal on the bar tv. The host was even more irritating than Noel Edmonds. The guy selling sunbeds for the hotel stood no shit from the beach hawkers so we were spared that hassle.

It was a pity my boyfriend, now ex, was a tight arse and misery guts because I would have liked to go on some historical excursions to see more of the country.

nasty nasty place, went on a family trip. Beaches were crap, towns very poor and dirty, scary creepy men following you everywhere, being continuously harassed by locals so you could buy their rug/bracelets/ice cream/etc… Never again.

I can't agree about the beaches being crap, when I went they were stunning, but sadly we didn't spend much time on them due to being hassled constantly.

Couldn't fault the hotel either, was lovely, didn't like the food in the hotel though but that's not unusual for AI
