PARC ASTERIX - Has anyone been there recently and got any good tips for me?

We are off to spend a couple of days at Parc Asterix next week. Driving down, staying at the Novotel nearby. We haven't been there before (although we did go to Disneyland Paris seven years ago). So I wondered if any Mumsnetters have been there, and if so, your advice/tips/recommendations would be gratefully received.

Merci Buckets!

Sorry no help, but I'm interested in visiting in summer, so will be watching this thread!

Well Brightwell, it was a brilliant theme park. Almost no queueing at all, roller coasters to suit all ages (including fabulous loop the loop one with 7 loops!), nice & clean and very friendly. We were almost the only Brits there.

The only small gripe I would have is that many of the food outlets weren't open or shut shortly after lunch. We didn't want anything to eat the first day, until mid-afternoon, by which time there was only one fast food outlet open as the sandwich place had run out of food, and this only had a very limited choice.

The second day we went for the hot-dog option, which was far simpler.

I expect it'll be busier in summer. Did your dc know about Asterix ie from the books. Can you "do it" in a day?

Oh yes you can do it in a day if there aren't any queues. It is a really good day-full though. My dd2 got the set of Asterix books from the Book People for Christmas, which first sparked the interest, and then I remembered seeing the Asterix Parc signposted off the motorway when we drove to Disneyland Paris 7 years ago. So I did know about it.

DD2 was very proud of her knowledge of the characters when we were there and 'met' them in the village area the first afternoon.

DD1 now wants to read the books too!
