FRENCH TOLLS - Does anyone know how much we should allow for these?

We are driving down to Parc Asterix next week (about 21 miles North of Paris) and wondered how much we should allow for the motorway tolls?

Also, I'm guessing you have to pay in Euros rather than credit card? DH wants to know so he can get the Euros. I told him I'd read on here that you also need to pay cash for petrol too. I'm sure someone said French petrol stations won't take British cards.....

We drive in Northern France regularly - it's very straight-forward and the toll roads are usually much quieter than Uk motorways - bliss!

The debit card lane is usually much quicker than the manual pay one.

There's a UK version of the ViaMichelin site which is very good

The Eurotunnel terminal has a euro-dispensing cash machine. We always use the tunnel rather than the ferry - the flexibility if you're late is a relief and as other posters have said, it's sooo much easier with kids.
