What pass for weekend in Rome?

Hi there,

I'm off to Rome in a few weeks time. The trip is three nights and 2 days and time and budget are limited. What's the best deal for seeing the sights and travelling around? Hoping to get into the Vatican as a priority.

I know this is an old post but I'm looking for the same info. Did you manage to find good tickets for the Vatican in Rome? I'd love to get just entry tickets without a guided tour but I can't seem to find them online...

Hi Zoeyclash. I looked and looked but all the tickets for Vatican were booked up except guided tour tickets so in the end I stumped up for them - and I'm REALLY glad I did. The place was absolutely heaving and so busy it was uncomfortable. The only reason we were able to see anything and navigate our way around was because we had a guide with elbows of steel and a strict schedule of where she was to be and when and she brooked no argument. After the tour was done we could have stayed and had a bit more of a look around some of the other museums in the Vatican and I would have loved to have done this but my teenage daughter was not up for it. I'd 100% recommend the guided tour option, honestly, and I'm a right skinflint normally!.
