Gale Portugal Oct Half Term

Our family (DH, me and 3 DC aged 13, 12 and 11) are looking at a villa in Gale during October half term and I just wondered what people's experiences are like please if you have been then. We are inexperienced travellers and not great in the summer heat, which is one of the reasons for travelling at that particular time (as well as money and school holidays being a big issue). It's a bit hit and miss in the Algarve at the end of October. I have been there in 23/24 degree heat but also pouring rain and clouds. Not really possible to predict!
However it will be warmer than in the Uk!

I live just down the road. Galé is quite small and some places may be starting to close.

The weather could be anything from early 20s and sunny to cold and rainy.

The bigger resorts will be busier, where we live the restaurants and bars start to close in November
