Milan to Turin

Hi I'm off to Turin soon but flying into Milan Malpensa Airport. The flight gets in around 2am and I'm starting to worry about how to get to Turin at that time. Does anyone have some knowledge or advice please?

There is no need to worry because you are not getting to Turin at that time of night. Book an airport hotel and continue your journey the next morning.

@BlackForestCake can you recommend anywhere?

I use Connecto Transfers for every country I go to. I used them in both Turin and Milan. Get a quote on their website but I can’t recommend them highly enough for stress free transfers.

If you're landing at Terminal 2, book a room at the Moxy. From Terminal 1, if money's no object, book the Sheraton, otherwise take the airport bus (free, usually every 20mins but may be less frequent at that time) to a hotel in Casa Nuove or to the Moxy.

Thanks everyone. I'm so annoyed with myself for not checking before I booked. It's a holiday to Turin the flight is going to Milan Malpensa and it doesn't include transfers to the Turin hotel! The flight lands at 1.05am! I'm an idiot. Serves me right for being giddy at my first holiday for 22 years. I could've booked my own flights and see more cities but my confidence is low.

When is your first night in the Turin hotel booked? ie for the night you arrive, or not until the night after?

Have you checked if public transport is available at that time? Just because it's crap in most of the UK, doesn't mean it is everywhere, it could be that there are trains 24/7 between Milan and Turin - I was once panicking about a late arrival at Malta airport for a holiday in Gozo, which is a ferry ride away, but when I checked, there was a ferry every 90 mins all night, so a bit of a wait, but totally fine.

Otherwise, a hotel at your arrival airport sounds like a plan. You could check in, sleep, get up, have breakfast and even see a bit of Milan before your onward journey to Turin.

But yes, something to be aware of, city break 'packages' are almost always 'flight + hotel' rather than transfer included. Usually because you just get public transport from the airport, so no need for an organised transfer.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I'm booked into a hotel at the Milan airport and will enjoy Milan for the day then head to Turin. I'm feeling good about it now! I'll still have a full day and night in Turin.
