Can you hire car seats?

A friend has exhanged houses with a Canadian couple and their children aged 2 and 7. I can lend them a booster seat for the 7 year old but she doesn't know where to go about getting a car seat for the 2 year old. Any ideas please?

I would have thought it just as cheap to buy than hire.

Is it in England or Canada that they need the car seat?

They need the car seat in England - I think they are swapping cars too and my friend's children are all teenagers now.

Seems awfully expensive to buy one for a couple of weeks. Trouble is, car seats can't be sold second hand so getting hold of a cheap one would be hard. I think at 2yo they still need a 3 point harnessed seat too.

Not necessarily I have a "Britax Freeway" which is from 9 mths to 6yrs. Although I never used it before DD was 18 mths. This one fits in with normal seatbelts.
