Hello!

We want to book a holiday for two adults and a 3 year old in mid-July for a couple of weeks. Probably Italy or South of France (just because we want to keep flight time short) but open to suggestions. It would also be nice to have a little town nearby for some exploring. We went to Puglia last year and did all inclusive which obviously food-wise was great with a 2 year old as it meant we didn't have to faff around trying to find restaurants and if she didn't like something, we could easily get her something else. But happy to consider half board too and do a little cooking ourselves if it comes with those facilities.

We want a beach very nearby too and swimming pools handy for toddler. My question is: can anyone recommend places that don't come with all the cheesy entertainment? It's just not our vibe as we want to relax. As soon as you put 'toddler friendly' in the search criteria it's all pool entertainment and kids clubs. Last year we found it hard to properly relax as we were being pestered to join in with activities every 5 minutes. 🤣 We tend to like beach in the morning, lunch, chill, pool, dinner and then an evening walk. Please recommend anywhere you've been to that sounds like this! Thank you!

Get a villa and the east side of Cyprus - can't beat the sea for young children and beautiful beaches. Sea is very shallow perfect for little ones. Lots of restaurants to eat out grilled fish and meat - amazing

Go to Cefalu, fly to Palermo, explore for a day or not then 1 hour transfer to Cefalu. The town is lovely, beautiful old town, tons of cafe, restaurants, ice cream shops. Amazing sandy beach that goes for a couple of miles. Flat sea and very shallow for ages, perfect for young kids. Tons of seafront Hotels with pool (Astro Suites for example, offers breakfast but no entertainment or Victoria Sea Palace).

But July in Southern Italy will be hot. So only go if your toddler is used to heat.

I was just looking at Menton in the south of France. Stunning place near the sea.

We have been 3 times always with small kids and everything is super kid friendly. Italians are lovely with kids anyway.

Another option is Giardini Naxos near Catania. Has a beach and nice town but good base for trips to Taormina, Catania and other lovely beach towns if you want to. And Etna of course.

Not a specific location but have a look at the website i-escape - their “with kids” section. They list lots of lovely small hotels or b n bs which are child friendly but definitely non cheesy.

A Villa would get you what you want- if on a resort then you can take advantage of the facilities of a hotel but the privacy of your own villa. Domes of Elounda in Crete is amazing

Any of the Balearics, perfect family friendly, short flight, fab beaches
