Does anyone know the Lea Valley? Any particular spot they'd recommend?

Any nice pubs? Gastro pubs rather than East End boozers?

I live near the Tottenham bit, and wouldn't recommend it for a holiday tbh. There is a restaurant - I think it's the Lock Tavern - where the River Lea meets Ferry Lane which is apparently gastro, but it's not in a great location so never been in. There's also the Ferry Boat Inn which is basically a pub that does average food.

Sorry to be a downer - but I used to cycle up and down the canal path regularly and it's a nice ride, and gets much nicer once you get past the north circular.

At Broxbourne there is a lido pool with a wave machine and nearby you can hire boats on the River Lea. A bit further up the Lea you can do lots of nice walks around the gravel pit lakes near Ware, where they have turned the area into a wildlife reserve.
