Suggestions for first time solo holiday

I already have a holiday with friends booked for June, but I'm considering a solo holiday maybe around mid Sep to Mid Oct time.

Looking for suggestions of where I might not feel like I stick out like a sore thumb on my own.

I'd like somewhere fairly central but also near a beach, or at least with good transport links as I wouldn't hire a car if my life depended on it.

And ultimately, somewhere I'll feel safe being out and about on my own.

Thanks.

I went to Barcelona for my first solo holiday and it was perfect -- art, sightseeing, beach, everything you could want! Malaga also ticks those boxes, with a slightly smaller and safer vibe.

I was just going to say Malaga!

Puerto de mogan, Gran Canaria.

Third for Malaga. Perfect for solos. Great small city vibe, beach on the doorstep (or better ones up the coast on the short train trip), fab shopping, magic tapas around the Cathedral area. Very safe with the usual precautions.

Padua - on the trainline direct to Venice in 30 minutes, is a gem too. Look it up, it has everything and more besides. But no beach..... oh dear but day trips to Venice make up for it, at half the price of accommodation in Venice itself.

Third suggestion - Nice. Stick to the city centre around Place Massena and the Old Town. On the tramline to the airport and the train station to go to Cannes, Monaco and so on. Stony beach but great vibe. Super safe if you stay around where I mentioned.

Lake Garda in Italy. Could spend hours on the boat and looking around all the places.

Have done a lot of adding a week here or there after business travel and generally found most of those business destinations very good for solo travel as there’s lots of people in restaurants and hotels who are there on their own. Barcelona, Athens, Melbourne etc.

Posting for the tips.

I'd definitely do a city break in Europe. Barcelona, Lisbon, Copenhagen if you prefer somewhere cooler. Short direct flights and close to the airport

Berlin also very nice, safe, great variety of things to do.

I’m going to Avignon by myself this week.

Madeira, I went last year. Absolutely beautiful and nobody blinked an eye at my being on my own.

Best Destination For Solo Holidays is North Cyprus Paradise.
