I’ve been a few times in January to Lanzarote. It’s generally been nice enough to sit round the pool (maybe 18/19 degrees), but quite windy so sometimes have to put a towel round me to keep warm etc. The pool needs heating or it’s too cold for me. It often rains at night in my experience and goes dark quite early so it’s a very different feel to bring there in summer. I enjoyed it but it depends how warm you want it. For me, it was warm and I was out in flip flops and a summer dress. The locals were in denim jackets and scarves 🤣

I’ve done Majorca in winter and as the uk was -5 the temp was a lot warmer! Like PP locals in coats and is in shorts. kind of stood out.

The Canaries can be quite windy.

Me and DH went to Marrakech for Christmas. That was lovely. Bit chilly in the morning but by 11am it was pushing 20 degrees and great pool weather.

I did Gran Canaria January, try to choose a property protected by cliff side (there are plenty) to prevent wind. Temp ranged from 22-26, got colour, felt rested, sunsets were beautiful

I'm contemplating going next January, as for the first time we no longer need to travel in school holidays. We have friends living there and January is usually 18-20 (can be warmer) but can be windy. Some years are better than others, good weather is certainly not guaranteed. But it will be warmer than at home! We are looking at villas with a heated pool. If you want guaranteed sun and heat you will need long haul.

I've been to the Canaries, mostly Lanzarote many, many times in winter.
The answer is it varies.
You could have a scorching week or a week of cloud. Both are the extremes. Most likely is that you will get several sunny days in the low 20s with the odd cloudy half day or rain.
It's never not windy.
Evenings are chilly but most restaurants and bars are indoors so this doesn't matter. By chilly I mean jeans and jumper rather than strappy summer dress.

I was in Lanzarote this year in January and it was perfect. Seven days of sunshine, low to mid 20s. I have also been in April and had a week of cloud and cold wind.

The sea is cold although I did manage a swim and you need a heated pool. Iberostar Lazarote Park is a lovely hotel, Star prestige adults only.

South West Gran Canaria will be warmer and less windy.

We went to Tenerife over Christmas and New Year and it was gorgeous. We just had 2 cloudy days out of 14 and the evenings were cool.

I went in December it was 21 degrees but pool was freezing. No rain. Was lovely x
