Surefire mosquito repellents

Hi all, I have an upcoming holiday to Egypt, and reading reviews it looks like the resort is prone to vicious mosquitos!
I react terribly when bitten, could anyone give me any tips as to lotions, sprays, anything that I could take with me to mitigate the damage please?
I know I'll not eradicate them completely!

Smidge is great.

For night-time, use a plug-in thingy that takes tablets or has a little bottle of liquid. Or use two, if there is a socket on either side of the bed. Your hotel might provide these, and if not you can get them in any tourist shop/supermarket/pharmacy for about £5. (You could also take them from home, but Egypt has European-style sockets so you would need an adapter.)

Jungle formula
Smidge

Get something proper. Do not, whatever you do, buy Avon Skin So soft moisturising spray. I’m not sure whose bright idea it was to say this is a mosquito repellent (probably an Avon rep) but don’t waste your money. It smells absolutely disgusting and will make you very slimy. It also won’t repel any mosquitos.
