USA unusual spring destinations

In Spring 2025 I will be in USA Boston for a family event. I'm planning ahead to make it a longer trip/holiday. It will be DH and I 50s and DD early 20s travelling. Booking a year ahead to use avios so bonus for airports served by BA.
Places we have been in USA previously and so looking for a change from
Texas - DD studied in Austin and have also been to other major Texan cities
New Orleans (DD)
Miami (DD)
Boston, Cape Cod, many places in MA and RI, definitely don't want to do these states again
New York City, rural New York State many many times - happy never to go to NYC again
California - San Francisco, Los Angeles, obvious places in between loving everything except LA
North Carolina, South Carolina (love Charleston)
Washington DC
Nashville
DH has worked for weeks at a time in Pittsburgh, Baltimore - admittedly not obvious leisure destinations anyway

Like doing/seeing stuff and too restless to sit in resorts.

Find it increasingly difficult to cope with racism in USA so have ruled out a couple of places I long wanted to go to (eg Atlanta).

Have Washington state as my front runner but anywhere else i could consider?

I adore Memphis, it's like a little New Orleans! Gracelands is the obvious destination, even if you're not an Elvis fan but the city itself is lovely.

I used to live in Atlanta and wouldn't rule it out because of racism. In my experience, places like New York have much more racism. Atlanta has a huge African-American population and has a historically had the biggest African-American middle class in the US.

Chicago is worth considering if you like cities.

What sort of thing would you like to do on this holiday?

How about one of the big national parks like Glacier in Montana?
