2 bed apartments with a twist

Hi,

Would really appreciate some suggestions!

We're hoping to go away this summer but can't seem to find anything that fits our requirements.

We will be 3 adults and 2 kids, so are looking for a 2 bed apartment/hotel room with sofa bed. We're not too fussy about country, anywhere around the med would be fine. We're looking for:

An apartment with kitchenette would be ideal but would consider a hotel room.

Ideally we'd want it to be walking distance or a short drive to a nice beach and shops/restaurants/an attractive town.

Self catering or bed and breakfast, not AI.

Decor that's not stuck in the 70s.

Bonus points if it has evening entertainment of some sort.

At the lower end of the budget, around £2500 or less for a week in the summer hols.

I can find all the above, but the sticking point is WATER SLIDES! My kids love them. Not the tiny toddler ones, and not the big scary ones, just a few medium ones would be great. Something like the Cala d'Or Playa apartments in Majorca, but they can't put 5 people in a room, and we can't afford 2 rooms.

I'm not convinced this holy grail exists, but I'd love to be proved wrong! Thanks!

PS I know Eurocamp type places would fit the bill, but we've done this a few times already so looking for a change x

The Vilabranca apartments in Lagos, Portugal would fit your requirements apart from the water slides - unless they have installed some since I was there.

Would £2800 be ok if it was half board ? This place seems like it could fit the bill for the w/c 22 July in a 2 bed duplex room at 3300 euros for 5. I did the search on 3 primary aged children.

Does that budget figure (£2500) have to cover the flights for 5 people as well? If so, you're going to be hard pushed to find anything in the Mediterranean for that price that has water slides and doesn't involve camping.

No sorry, that budget is just for the apartment!

The Vilabranca looks lovely Decorhate, and we may end up staying somewhere like that, but I'm really hoping to find one with slides

It's on the Playa Blanca . Has slides and a kids club

These slides look perfect Stiffy, exactly what I'm after, it's just the half board pushes it slightly over budget. We like to eat out in the evenings, so are reluctant to pay for dinners we won't use. Thanks for looking Smile

Tbh I've only found self catering like that with slides at eurocamp or Siblu. One we stayed at www.barapark.es/en/ had apartments too but the slides weren't massive but the evening entertainment was v good as was the beach.

Attictroll · 23/02/2024 20:32

Some of the independent places on eurocamp find the website and see if they have apartments if you Google the sites name direct.

AntSecret · 23/02/2024 21:18

Thanks I will take a look x

Take a look on the TUI website and search for ‘Splashworld’ holidays

Twilightstarbright · 24/02/2024 07:13

@AntSecret we often switch our dinner to lunch if that helps? Most hotels have been fine with that.

That's worth looking into, thank you!
