Kinatbatangan lodges

We are going to Borneo in October and thought we had it all planned until the lodge we wanted to go to on the kinabatangan got booked up overnight 😱
can anyone recommend somewhere that isn’t ridiculously expensive please? ) so not Sukau for example! Also Sepilok, they seem either crazy money or v basic in dorms which isn’t what we’re looking for!

We did a basic homestay in kinabatangan (which was amazing) so can't suggest lodges.

I'm posting so that I can find this thread again when I've checked where we stayed. I don't seem to have a record but my friend saves this kind of info! Our Kinabatangan stay was budget and akin to a homestay, so our river cruises to see wildlife were great. On a couple of them the two of us were the only ones on the boat. But I can't for the life of me remember the name of the place. As we arranged stuff on the hoof (backpacking) I don't seem to have any email trail to accommodation info in either location.

Hopefully I'll be back.

Okay, just googled and looked at photos of the various lodges and I'm pretty sure it was this one

We did 3 days 2 night. Several boat trips. Saw orangutans. Incredible food. Very very basic accomodation. Highlight of our trip.

I stayed at the Kinabatangan Riverside lodge but it was part of a package so not sure how £££ it was. It was pretty basic but the river cruises were great
