Ryanair under seat bag size

Has anyone had trouble with their under seat bag being slightly over the dimensions stated, and being stopped from taking it?

The kids are using their school rucksacks which are wider than 20cm, but lightly packed so will definitely fold under the seat as required.

Thanks!

If you can squish it to fit into the boxes they have at boarding you’ll be fine

I’ve definitely seen people take way more than the allowed size, and way more than the “large cabin bag” size too. They seem to pick people off to an extra charge on certain flights, and totally ignore them on others.

Last few times we flew Ryanair they only ever gave a cursory glance over the bags I never saw anyone stopped. As long as they can squish down to the required size, you'll be fine.
