Are Disney Cruises any good ?

Dh talking to the neighbours and they had been on one and raved about it.

I have never been on a cruise in my life but quite fancy the idea, maybe for DHs 40th next year. We have one DS who would be 2.5 so I think this might be less bussly than Disneyland.

Has anyone been and what was it like ? Particularly we don't like sharing a small hotel room with DS as we all wake each other up, but the cabins seem to have privacy dividers, do these work ? Is there much entertainment on board? Do yo uhave to tip like crazy all the time ?

Any advice welcome.

Never been on one - but I have always wanted too just because the ships whistle blows the tune of 'when you wish upon a star'!!

Yes very nice. I did a 3 nt one in Feb and friends did a 4nt one in Nov.

I have been on lots of cruises and Disney is up there in top of the range. Its more slick from Boarding the ship to the life boat drill which are the 2 worst bits about cruising. There is lots to do although my 2ds are 9 and 4 so I don't know what the age for the clubs start at.

If you are not restricted to school holidays look at the cheaper times of the year I use 'Vacations to go' its easy to see the the prices and dates at aglance.and you will pay a third of the price at peak times. The rooms are bigger than most ships and you also get a batha aswell as a shower which is not common on other cruises.

Disney also incluse free soft drinks plus tea and coffee.5 star ships will provide all toewls for beach and swimming, service your cabin twice a day. All meals are included( inluding when you are on the disney island ). You can have room service when ever you want.

Tips are all paid at the end it is something like $77 pp for the 3 nights which goes to to rooms and reataurant staff and can be charged to your room account at the end of the trip.

I do think cruises in general are good value compared to other all inclusive resorts.4 and 5* Cruises have better entertainment and superior service.

Also lots of chance to see the Disney characters. Great shows although maybe 2yrs is a bit young for them.
