We stayed on Koh Samui near Bophut a few years' ago and loved it as we had the beach and lots of great restaurants in walking distance.Looking for something similar either on KS or other islands which you can fly to from Bangkok. Going in July so should be on the East coast.
Would love to find a nice villa/ Airbnb rather than stay in a hotel.

We loved Koi Samui. Is it possible to stay at the Phi Phi Islands? We went in a day trip and it was like paradise.

Following, for tips. Never been.

We did Bangkok, koh Samui and phuket. John Samui was our favourite but bangkok and phuket are worth a visit. Phuket is more out there but can easily access phi phi Island on a trip

We loved Koh Pha-Ngan more than Koh Samui. Stayed at both. Was less developed.

Watch out for the box jellyfish at either island. Don't think there are as many around the west coast of Thailand.

Thanks everyone. @Sandiegodreaming where did you stay in Koh Pan Ngan? How did you get there from Samui? Much as the Phi Phi islands look beautiful, they are on the West of Thailand which is much wetter at that time of the year

We stayed at Sandy Bay bungalows and it was really lovely. Had a bungalow on the beach, lovely restaurants nearby.

We sailed there as we had been in the jungle at Khao Sok so got a transfer to Surat Thani then a boat across. Was a great adventure. Would go back in a heartbeat.

We went to Koh Samui after Koh Phangan, again by boat.

July is the wet season, so nice temps but be prepared for heavy rains.

Hi, this is an old thread but just jumping on as looking to book somewhere in ko samui in july. Found a fab villa in bhoput but read reviews saying beach isn't nice... how true is this? Also want to do Khao Sak tour and stay a couple of nights. Any recommendations of places to stay? Do all hotels etc over there include activities in their price? Thanks!

We stayed here and aboslutely loved it - would really recommend their spa treatments and also the room service, you get your own pool and the views are stunning
