Has anyone done the Disney cruise? Looking at Southampton to Spain for 5 nights. DS will be 4.

I was also wondering if anyone had done the Disney cruise. Guess, we will have to be the brave explorers.

We did a Halloween cruise in 2022 from Florida on the Dream which I think is the shop in Europe at the moment and will be doing another one this summer.

We did one in Florida - lots of fun (for a family).

I went on a 7 day Med one, it’s one of my top 3 holidays.

My family (my mum, sister and 2 kids) did the Southampton one and enjoyed it. We plan to one day when son is older (2 now so not sure there's much point yet). Sorry not much help!

Yes a Med one. Fabulous. 4 would be a great age for it

TiredMumE · 12/06/2024 19:40

I'm stuck between the Florida one and the med one.

What's your sticking point?
You'd not go to Florida just for a cruise - how old is your child?

Lordofmyflies · 13/06/2024 13:09

We've done two. One around western med and one around eastern med.
Not a cheap holiday, but the kids loved it. The quality was superb, from the food to the entertainment.
The cruise line had animators from Pixar giving lessons on film making, costumers from the set of Thor doing stage make up for the kids, and people from the prop department teaching them stunts. Really interactive and interesting. We all preferred it to Disneyworld.

I was impressed with the safety too. Kids are given a bracelet which only allows them access to certain parts of the ship, i.e no bars! It also means that if they 'clock' in to an area, e.g to take part in an activity, they can't leave without a nominated adult paired to their bracelet.
The med is interesting as well - we would visit Pisa in thew morning and go back on board for the afternoon.

Hello @Friedseasalt

Did you ever do the new Southampton one? We're considering it for this summer
DD will be 5

ginforall · 11/01/2025 20:41

We went on one from Barcelona, it was 10 years ago, so not a recent experience. It was great, we thought the service was brilliant, the food was really good, great evening shows and entertainment and much better character meeting experiences than we had at Disneyland Paris (less queues etc.). The only reason we haven't done another is the size of rooms and price of having to then have two rooms now our kids are bigger. 4 would be a great age for it.

No we've booked it through ABP, I joined some Facebook groups and they said it's the most convenient.

We're also staying in the Premier Inn the night before, we're a 2.5-3 hr drive away so didn't wana risk it in the morning!
