Nice places near Malaga

Hi I have trawling through Google and still non the wiser. Thinking of flying to Malaga in the summer holidays (seem to be able to get easy cheap ish flight) then will book an Airbnb. Can anyone recommend a nice area, not too built up walkable to a little town, harbour, beach. I haven't been to southern Spain and really don't to book into 18-30 type holiday resort town. Have two teens but they aren't keen on hectic night life....yet! Thanks if anyone can help

How far could you travel? Estepona is lovely but it’s an hour from Malaga.

Oh thanks. Both places look lovely. There are some nice apartments with pools on Airbnb. I get a little worried about organising transfers from airports. Since having kids we have mainly done package holidays. Now they are big teens I need to crack on a do something a bit different and just sort transfers out and book a self catering place. But trying to find one that's nice but close to everything can be tricky
