cancelling a holiday due to illness?

well I have posted on here enough about going to barcelona on thursday, and now it seems like it al lmight be off. Ds has been vomiting on and off for a few days - not eating much at all, but wet nappies etc. Then last night into this morning, I had the most severe and violent bout of sickness and diarrhoea. I feel a bit better now, but my guts are making funny sounds, and I am totally washed out.

So I'm now hedging my bets about whether or not we will go. If we are too sick to go, can we get out money back though the travel insurance?

Does anyone have any advice?

You have to have a dr certificate to say you are not fit to fly, assuming you are insured.

Yes, you have to have a certificate (and your GP will prob charge you £25+ to sign it for you)

we are due to fly onthursday morning.
all our bags are packed and ready in the hall

I dont know whether to chance going away - we do appear to be on the mend - or accept that it's written off.
ds is seeing the doctor tomorrow about his continued sickness, so I will ask then if he is able to fly.

would we be reimbursed for our apartment too?

Probably, depending how you booked. You'd lose the excess on the policy though.

How long are you going for, though? If it's a week, maybe you should risk it and go?

when I feel ok I think, yes it'll be ok. then ds puked again and I thought, maybe not.
I need to hedge my bets til tomorrow night - maybe the doctor will give ds something incase he is ill again over there.
