Go on the tourist buses - you can buy a 1,2 or 3 day ticket, there are 3 or 4 routes that take you all round the city - you can hop on and off when you like - they are fab!!

oh you lucky person. We go once a year if we can. How long are you going for? There is too much to fit in a weekend.

We were in Barcelona last Easter . How old are your DDs? We did a bike tour with Fat Tire Bikes and our DSs (aged 9 and 12 at the time) really enjoyed it. They also loved the cable car ride and of course there is an Aquarium and a zoo too (although we didn't go to either). We went to Parc Guell but it's a long walk if you go by public transport and the children preferred visiting the Gaudi houses Casa Batllo/Casa Mila and the Sagrada Familia. Have a great holiday - I hope the weather is better for you than it was for us last year! We had torrential and incessant rain for 3 days and the rest of the week apart from Easter Sunday was dull, cold and drizzly. Hope you have a wonderful holiday and can enjoy a stroll along the beach and around the Parc de la Ciutadella in the sunshine.

The main street Las Ramblas has a great restaurant called Attic on it - go there does lovely food and you get great views of the city - have to book though.

Definitely go to the Sagrada Familia and walk up the steps - DH is scared of heights but still said it was well worth it.

If you go down to the habour and walk along to the end of the piers there are lots of lovely tapas bars, where you can sit and watch the ships and boats, whilst sipping Rioja and eating tapas.

Lucky lucky you - I love Barcelona!

I hope its not too late but there is a website called www.mumabroad.com which lists all the family/child - friendly activities in Barcelona as well as day trips for kids (recommended by local mums)

My favourite restaurant (I go there every time) Is Los Caracoles. Can't remember the name of the street, but you could google it.

It's v. busy. The system is you go in, they prob. won't have a table immediately but we've never waited longer than 15 mins so you can have a drink at the bar or walk round the block.

You walk right through the open plan kitchen where the chefs are throwing huge lobsters, prawns etc on giant BBQs, making rissoto etc. Some of the tables are in a glassed in balcony overlooking the kitchen.

Lots of atmosphere, fantastic food.

There's also a great restaurant in Placa Real where you can get a three course lunch for E10 inc. wine.
