Back from NZ and 12 mo has jet lag. Help!

Came home from NZ yesterday. No problems with time difference on the way out. Forced 24 hour stop over in LA so second time difference to get over.

Yesterday DD went to sleep in the car at 3pm and wouldn't wake up. At 4am she was wide awake and refusing to go back to sleep. Finally got her off just after 5am but she was back up at 7am.

She went to sleep at 2.30pm today and has pretty much slept ever since. She has grizzled when woken a couple of times and gone back off. She woke up at 9.30pm raring to go and had 40 minutes racing about, but seems to be dozing again.

I can't stop her going to sleep, so how do I get her back on English time? I don't need her to go to sleep early- just to stay asleep until at least 7am!

Do you have jetlag too?

I don't think you can do anything about it tbh. You just catch up in about 2/3 days or so. Your dd will get back into the swing of UK time when you do.

I think you just have to continue doing things at the usual time as much as possible, mealtime, bath time etc and accept there'll be a few days of madness!

DH and me both feeling like death warmed up. Would feel better if I could sleep but DD won't let me.

It will pass in a couple of days.

I remember coming to life at midnight and having to go back to work after a couple of hours sleep. It does catch up with you, and you do get back into normal UK routine.

We are going next year when dd is 8 and ds 5 [dreading it]
