Munich- shopping & vegetarian

DD and I are off to Munich for a few days, Christmas markets and museums are on the list.

I will be leaving space in my bag for Lebkuchen, marzipan etc, and we’ll see plenty of Christmas decorations but are there nice things to buy that are a bit less obvious?

eg woollen socks, things with a retro/ vintage style, inexpensive unusual jewellery, stationery?

I feel confident that we won’t be needing a beer stein, dirndl or lederhosen, splendid though they are ( and we will be drinking beer- any top tips for good spots on a Saturday evening?)

also will we find snacks, pizza slices, sandwiches etc without meat or fish easily enough? I know there are some good vegetarian restaurants but it’s the lighter meals that can be harder. I assume all soups are generally made on meat stock .

Definitely check out the Tollwood market in Munich. Vegetarianism and veganism is a running theme there and we found a veggie bratwurst, falafel, chickpea tagine etc… Elsewhere, I enjoyed sauerkraut served on a hot pretzel, potato cakes and Flammkuchen (like a cheesy flatbread).
Also, I recommend Pfeffernusse. This is my german treat of choice!
