Luxury couples holiday

Hi,

My husband and I are looking to go away next year, possible June time. Our children will be staying with my parents so a week max Which rules out long haul flights really.
I quite fancy Greece as seen lots of beautiful photos however my husband really wants luxury, 5* type thing with great service etc. Does anyone have any recommendations? Open really to anywhere in Europe and also considering Dubai but I'd like it all inclusive really.
A private pool for the room would be amazing but not necessity!
Basically looking for somewhere really really nice as he's a bit fussier than me too.
No real budget however I'd like to keep it under £4k really.

Ikos Aria

Ikos hotels

Stella Island, Crete

Not Ikos if you’re leaving your own kids behind! Marbella Elix would fit the bill.

pico1 · 30/10/2023 12:24

Or Marbella Nido which is adults only.

gotomomo · 30/10/2023 12:45

For the 2 of you I would look at Sicily as an alternative, not ai but it's lovely, a bit old school glamour especially Taormina. Think cocktails overlooking the sea, little restaurants... definitely a couples place

Bunnycat101 · 30/10/2023 13:21

I wouldn’t do Ikos if you’re without children. Go for an adults only. Last thing you’ll want is to hear kids screaming when you don’t have yours- I guarantee you’ll notice it.

Stresa22 · 30/10/2023 13:26

Stresa on Lake Maggiore.

Forgottenmyphone · 30/10/2023 13:26

Ikos Aria has several adults-only areas including an outdoor and indoor pool, and an adults only restaurant. Also, I wouldn’t worry about choosing an adults only hotel in June.

PegasusReturns · 30/10/2023 13:29

Definitely no to ikos if you’re leaving DC behind.

Sani greece has an adult only but which I’ve not visited but the family areas are good.

I’d probably go somewhere boutique - y for a romantic holiday for two, although you won’t get the all inclusive option.

Lovepeaceunderstanding · 30/10/2023 13:29

We do IKOS without children. We go outside school holidays because it’s cheaper, most children around are young. We use the adult pool(s) sections of the beach and restaurants. I personally wouldn’t rule IKOS out.

I absolutely would! lots of EU and fee paying schools are on holiday by June and of course all the parents of under 5s are taking full advantage before the July price hike.

Madickenxx · 30/10/2023 13:34

Can't recommend it as I haven't been but we are going to Mayia Exclusive Resort & Spa in Rhodes which seems lovely, is adult only and have great reviews.

pumpykins · 30/10/2023 13:42

Not been personally but my sister went to Stella Island in Crete and that looked nice

Cookerhood · 30/10/2023 13:45

FZeen Kefalonia - boutique & adults only. I haven't been but friends love it & we are planning a trip next year.

Aliceinwonder1 · 30/10/2023 15:12

Thank you everyone for suggestions so far. Any hotel names as well as locations would be appreciated as there's just so many it's good to look and compare

Have a look at Secrets Fuerteventura!

Not Greece I know but the hotel has amazing food with several a la cartes - no restrictions - sun loungers to die for - no reserving or racing - brilliant service, lovely, spacious rooms, adult only and all inclusive.

Only suitable if you want a really relaxing holiday though.
