Banham zoo in the rain - worth it???

For DS's birthday we were planning to go to Colchester zoo but the weather is not looking good for the 2 hour drive, Banham zoo is much nearer to us.

Will we still be able to see a reasonable amount of animals indoors? I know DS will still love it, even if they are inside, and i know at Colchester you would still be able to see a fair amount but never having been to Banham i don't know...

I assume you must be able to see most things or how would they make any money, being in the UK?!

SOrry but I wouldn't do it - apart from a few little buildings with some monkeys etc, it's all outside. It will be cold and wet and miserable.

Great zoo for a dry day though - clean and good enclosures etc.

I live not far from Banham Zoo. There isn't a huge amount do see inside tbh - there are the odd shed sized areas with some spiders and little monkeys. The weather here is pretty bad though, just walking to school my forehead still stings! It's a lovely zoo, as zoos go, small and easy to get around, but I really wouldn't do it today - you'll end up in the grimmo soft play bit in the middle which has pretty much nothing in it and is a little bit sticky. Go on a day when you can go on the road train and walk around without fear of being taken out by a bin.
