Driving from Perth to Ningaloo reef

Has anyone done this? In a motor home.

Deciding whether to rent a motor home or a car and a couple of stops overnight in a hotel.

I would be grateful for any advice

Going in August, 2 adults and 2 teens

the motorhome doesn’t appeal to me but husband wants to try it

We did Darwin to Perth in a camper van which involved driving from Ningaloo reef down to Perth.
No problem at all, good roads and camp sites all the way.
Plenty of stations for filling up on route.
Your choice whether car or campervan. Both are perfectly feasible.

How many days will people recommend to drive there and back? Couple of overnights stop overs and a few nights in Ningaloo reef. Is 7 days enough?

Also, if we rent the motorhome, can we access most of the sightseeing places?
